#Abstract
Rapid advances in semiconductor manufacturing have allowed single-photon sensors to be packed in 2D arrays. With such innovative sensors, scientists are able to track how light propagates and to reveal unknown biological processes. The applications of these devices include biomedical imaging, 3D ranging, driver-less vehicles or time-resolved spectroscopy. However, such advanced imaging systems also bring unprecedented challenges in data storage and data analytics. How could we deal with such challenges with innovative computational techniques and what opportunities will be promised through these new techniques?
