簡介

        杭教授曾任職美國AT&T貝爾實驗室七年餘，之後於1991年回國任教交通大學電子工程學系。2006-2009年借調至國立台北科技大學資訊工程學系，並兼任電資學院院長。曾擔任交通大學電信研究中心主任， 2014-2017年擔任交通大學電機學院院長，於2021年8月退休。杭教授研究領域為深度學習於影像視訊上之應用，及多媒體訊號處理。過去十餘年，與交通大學同仁組成團隊，參加國際MPEG標準會議，有數項具體成果成為標準文獻，推廣我人技術於國際舞台。
         杭教授近二十多年來培育多位碩博士畢業生，發表200餘篇專業論文，並有14項國內外專利。此外，亦參與國內數位電視等標準之制定，協助相關產業發展。杭教授積極參與IEEE以及其他學術期刊的編輯工作，曾擔任IEEE學會Trans. on Image Processing (TIP)以及Trans. on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology (CSVT) 的Associate Editor。2014-5年擔任IEEE Circuits and Systems Society Distinguished Lecturer。目前為Asia-Pacific Signal and Information Processing Association (APSIPA)的Member of Board of Governors。因其學術貢獻與專業參與，杭教授於2000年獲IEEE Third Millennium Medal， 2002年獲IEEE Fellow，及2008年獲IET Fellow。2005年獲中國工程師學會傑出工程教授獎，2012年獲電機工程師學會傑出工程教授獎。
