EE Dept. of NCTU, a shining name in industry and academia, creates lots of outstanding achievements and possesses plenty of No.1′s

• We designed Taiwan’s 1st TV broadcasting machine.
• We christened Taiwan’s 1st computer. (IBM 650, vacuum tube)
• We designed Taiwan’s 1st solid state laser. (ruby laser)
• We designed Taiwan’s 1st gas state laser. (He-Ne laser)
• We designed Taiwan’s 1st plane transistor.
• We designed Taiwan’s 1st integrated circuit.
• In 1970, Mr. Chun-yen Chang was entitled the 1st Ph.D. of Engineering educated in Taiwan.
• In 1977, we were ranked top in the evaluation sponsored by Ministry of Education.
• Prof. Sze S.M is the 1st Fellow of the Academia Sinica in the EE field.
